The Daily Post Photo Challenge: Morning

cat, sleep, sleeping cat, pets

Being a lazy person, morning means to me even deeper sleep just like this, right after the alarm rings at 6Ā o’clock. šŸ™‚ Ā  šŸ˜‰

Well, when I have to go to office I cannot afford this luxury though!

Prayer Stones: The Cherry on Top

gurudongmar, lake, north sikkim

This is a snap from my Sikkim Tour photo-story series. TheĀ clear reflections of theĀ snow-covered peaks in the still waters of theĀ sacred lake, GurudongmarĀ could make a decent picture. I think,Ā the heap of prayers stones in the foreground works like theĀ cherry on top to make this frame look more interesting and meaningful. What do you say? šŸ™‚

The Daily Post Photo Challenge: Details in Stone

This week’s photo challenge topic ‘details’ instantly reminded me of the delicateĀ stone detailingĀ in the palacesĀ in Rajasthan. This one is fromĀ aĀ palace in Jaisalmer Fort.

Now, take a closer look.

The Daily Post Photo Challenge: Look Up – 2

“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”

~Ā Wayne Dyer

Sattal, one of the several beautiful lakes inĀ Kumaon,Ā was aĀ part of ourĀ sightseeing tour in Nainital. SattalĀ is a combination of three lakes connectedĀ together naturally. Apart from boating facility there is one more attraction. It offers a smallĀ trek to aĀ church on top of the hill on the other side of the lake.

WhileĀ trekking along the steep, shadowy walking trail I looked upwards to see the toweringĀ pines and other coniferous trees creating a nice canopy over my head.

“Keep looking up! I learn from the past, dream about the future and look up.”Ā

Jaipur City Palace is an amazing place. The moment I entered the palace premises I was blown away by the imposingĀ pink sandstone architecture and theĀ intricate carvings on the walls and columns. After some time I got busy in exploring theĀ palace and taking photographs.

I wasĀ walkingĀ around the courtyard, looking and admiring the architectural beauty. Suddenly, a flutteringĀ soundĀ made me look upĀ to the sky. A flock of pigeons were flying above. And that’s when I noticed theĀ beautiful Clock Tower of Jaipur.

The Daily Post Photo Challenge: Opposites

opposites, contrast

“All colors are the friends of their neighbors and the lovers of their opposites.”

~Ā Marc Chagall

Last week I stumbled upon a post on minimalist photography, which I found veryĀ appealing. As soon as I finished reading the article, I took up my camera and started looking for a subject.

I knew that the newly paintedĀ boundary wallĀ Ā in our backyard could be a subject. So I ran to the balcony andĀ this green vine caught my attention immediately. The combination of living and nonliving – the contrast of lush green leavesĀ and the bright yellow wall on itsĀ background creates a nice frame.

I would also like to share the opposite combination here. A yellow flower with green background. So… which one do you like more?

P.S: I have brightened theĀ image slightly and darkened the edges to enhance the colors. Hope you like it. šŸ™‚

The Daily Post Photo Challenge: Partners

“Of all the myriad ways we define love, there is perhaps none more honest and powerful than this: Great love is rooted in great partnership.”

~Ā Sarah MacLean

It was a foggy winter morning. I was still lying on my bed when my mother came into the room and opened the window. That’s when I saw them perched on ourĀ neighbor’s boundary wall. Partners, having some “alone time” together.
